We conducted a blind taste test of five different waters. Each student ranked the five waters from Best Taste to Worst Taste. Most of the class predicted they would prefer Crystal Geyser or Evian water. Here is a summary of the results of our blind taste test.
Rating | Water | From Where | Hard or Soft |
---|---|---|---|
Best | Crystal Geyser | Sierra Nevada Mountains, California | Soft |
2nd | Palo Alto Tap Water | Hetch Hetchy, Yosemite, California | Soft |
3rd | Refreshe | Sugarpine, California | Soft |
4th | Black Mountain Distilled | Brea, California | Soft |
5th | Evian | Cachat Springs, Evian, France | Hard |
Chrystal Geyser and the Palo Alto water from the fountain in our room were the clear favorites with Refreshe close behind. A few people liked Distilled water best; even fewer liked Evian water best.

We were surprised how strongly people felt about Evian and Distilled—most of us didn’t like either waters! Few people had Evian or Distilled Water in the middle of their lists. Most of us had Palo Alto water in the top three rankings; very few liked it least.
