We conducted a blind taste test of five different waters. Each student ranked the five waters from Best Taste to Worst Taste. Most students predicted that Crystal Geyser Water would be the favorite and that tap water from our room would be the least favorite. Here is a summary of our results.
Best Ratings | Water | From Where | Hard or Soft |
---|---|---|---|
12 | Palo Alto Tap Water | Hetch Hetchy (Yosemite) and Palo Alto Wells | Soft |
6 | Distilled Water | Arrowhead | Soft |
5 | Evian | Cachat Springs, Evian, France | Hard |
3 | Crystal Geyser | Sierra Nevada Mountains, California | Soft |
1 | Saint Springs | Russia | Hard |
We were surprised that most kids rated our own tap water as having the best taste.
Worst Ratings | Water | From Where | Hard or Soft |
---|---|---|---|
10 | Distilled Water | Arrowhead | Soft |
7 | Evian | Cachat Springs, Evian, France | Hard |
5 | Crystal Geyser | Sierra Nevada Mountains, California | Soft |
4 | Saint Springs | Russia | Hard |
1 | Palo Alto Tap Water | Hetch Hetchy (Yosemite) and Palo Alto Wells | Soft |
We were surprised that so many kids rated Distilled Water as the worst tasting water and that only one person thought our own water was the worst tasting.
The water with the most Best votes was soft, and the water with the most Worst votes was also soft. We aren't sure if the hardness or softness of the water influenced its popularity.
