We conducted a blind taste test of five different waters. Each student ranked the five waters from Best Taste to Worst Taste. Two-thirds of the class predicted they would prefer Crystal Geyser water because that’s what they usually drink, distilled water because it is completely pure, Calistoga water, and Evian. No one thought they would like Room 17 water best. Here is a summary of the results of our blind taste test.
Rating | Water | From Where | Hard or Soft |
---|---|---|---|
Best | Palo Alto Tap Water | Hetch Hetchy (Yosemite) and Palo Alto Wells | Soft |
2nd (Tie) | Evian Calistoga | Cachat Springs, Evian, France Calistoga, California | Hard Soft |
3rd | Black Mountain Distilled | Brea, California | Soft |
4th | Crystal Geyser | Sierra Nevada Mountains, California | Soft |
We were surprised that Room 17 water was the favorite of most students and that Crystal Geyser came in last. It didn’t seem to matter if the water was hard or soft. Some people really liked Evian (which is hard).
Rating | Water | From Where | Hard or Soft |
---|---|---|---|
Worst | Crystal Geyser | Sierra Nevada Mountains, California | Soft |
2nd | Black Mountain Distilled | Brea, California | Soft |
3rd | Evian | Cachat Springs, Evian, France | Hard |
4th | Calistoga | Calistoga, California | Soft |
5th | Palo Alto Tap Water | Hetch Hetchy (Yosemite) and Palo Alto Wells | Soft |
There were two waters that people felt really strongly about—Evian and Distilled water. Few people had those waters in the middle of their lists. People really liked them or really disliked them!
